Hylio designs and builds the ATLAS at its Texas headquarters with U.S. and global parts. It carries a big tank, sprays a wide swath and swaps to a granular spreader for dry products and seed. We fly two of them together, and we plan on 200 acres an hour and 2,000 acres in a standard spray day.

PHOTON

PHOTON maps your field before the first spray flight. Boundaries, pivots, power lines, tree rows and wet holes go into a saved flight plan you keep for this season and the next. It flies RTK, so the map lines up with the ground inside an inch, and the spray aircraft fly the same plan without a new setup.

On a scouting flight it reads the crop: stand gaps, weed patches, water problems and stress showing up before it shows from the pickup. You get the map, the acreage by field, and a marked list of what to look at.

Platinum Trailer

Water, mixing, charging and launch all ride on one trailer. The flight deck runs 38 feet: a 16 by 8 foot landing deck at each end with the 6 foot command center between them. The ATLAS measures 157 inches across, so one aircraft fills its deck. The command center rides a push button lift off the lower deck. Down, its roof sits flush with the flight deck and you walk straight across it. Up, it stands above the deck as the viewing station. Battery racks sit on the deck either side of it, half on each, two steps from either aircraft. A walk up stairway comes through the deck beside the lift. The 28 foot lower deck carries the main tank, the mix tanks, the pump, fresh water and a generator bay sized for a 48 by 98 by 80 inch diesel set. We set up at your field edge, fill from the tank and keep both aircraft in the air.

What does it cost per acre?
As low as $12 per acre with a multi-season agreement. The rate covers the aircraft, the pilot and the application. You supply the products. Every quote shows the full price, travel included, before you commit.
Do you charge for travel to my field?
Not inside 75 road miles of our Blackfoot base. Most of Eastern Idaho sits inside the free ring. Farther out, we quote travel once for the trip and it lands on your quote in writing before you commit. Call with your location and your acres and you get the number up front.
Why is drone spray cheaper than my ground rig when I already own it?
The savings show up at harvest, not on the invoice. Our planning figure puts wheel track yield loss near $20 per acre on small grains and row crops. Add a $10 spray rate and your real cost sits near $30 per acre. At $6 wheat, losing 3 to 4 bushels an acre to rig traffic costs you $18 to $24 an acre before you pay for a drop of fuel.
How does the season agreement work?
Pick one, two or three seasons. You name your fields and commit all acres on them to our spray service each season. Your rate holds for every season the agreement covers. Longer agreements carry lower rates, as low as $12 per acre. You read and sign it online.
What products do you apply? Do you bring them?
You supply the products to your agronomist's prescription or your own. We bring the aircraft, the crew and the application. We do not sell crop products. Every product must carry a label allowing aerial application, and we check each label before a job goes on the schedule.
What aircraft do you fly?
We fly the Hylio ATLAS, built in Texas and listed by Hylio as 100% NDAA compliant. It carries a 30-gallon tank and sprays a 40-foot swath. The Hylio PHOTON scout drone maps your fields. Everything runs from a nuWay Ag Platinum trailer with a 1,000-gallon water tank.
How many acres do you cover in a day?
We plan on 2,000 acres in a day at standard 2 gallon per acre work, and we stay until your day is done. Two ATLAS aircraft fly together at a planning figure of 200 acres per hour. Heavier rates per acre and small, broken fields cover fewer acres per hour, so your quote shows the day count for your fields before you commit.
How do I get a quote, and how fast do I hear back?
Call 208-980-2131, send a text, or fill out the form on this page. Give us the acres, the crop, the product and your window. You get a written quote with the full price, travel included, and you approve it online or over the phone. We answer inside one business day.
When do you need to know my spray dates?
The earlier the better, because windows stack up fast in June and July. Tell us the months you expect to need help and we hold the plan loosely. Once your agronomist sets the date, one call locks it. Weather moves days for everybody, and we move with it.
Do you need water from me, or do you haul your own?
The trailer carries a 1,000 gallon tank and a 200 gpm fill pump. We fill from your pivot, well or ditch when you give us permission, and we haul water in when no source is handy. Tell us which on the work order so nobody waits at the gate.
Do my pivots have to shut off?
No. We fly around a running pivot and plan the pass so the span and tower stay clear. Send us the pivot schedule if you have one, and we set the flight line to match. Wet ground under the pivot stops a ground rig; it never stops us.
Do you fly at night or first light?
We plan the calm windows, which usually means first light and the evening. Wind, label limits and legal daylight set the schedule. Night work takes its own FAA authorization, so we do not promise it.
How do you handle buffers, neighbors, ditches and bee hives?
Every product carries its own buffer and wind rules, and those go on the work order before we fly. Tell us about hives, sensitive crops, homes, water and anything downwind. If the label or the wind says we hold off on an edge, we hold off and tell you why.
Is drone spraying legal in Idaho? What credentials do you hold?
Yes, with the right approvals. Drone spraying takes an FAA Part 107 pilot certificate, an FAA Part 137 agricultural aircraft operator certificate, a Section 44807 exemption for aircraft over 55 pounds, and Idaho pesticide licenses. Ours are in progress now, and we plan to finish before the 2027 season. No paid job flies until every one is in hand.
Do I need to prepare my field?
Little lands on you. Three things help: share your field boundaries or a map, point out a spot near the field for the trailer, and keep the access road clear on spray day. The trailer stands 11 feet tall on the road, so the route needs more than 11 feet of clearance, plus firm ground at the field. Have your products on hand, and we handle the rest.
How even is the coverage? Will I get gaps or double spray?
You get even coverage across the whole field. The aircraft flies a GPS path set before takeoff and holds the line on every pass. Overlap gets set for your rate and nozzles. Drones work pivot corners, tree lines and odd shapes where fixed-wing aircraft struggle.
What happens if the wind is too high on my day?
You never pay for a weather day. Most product labels set a wind limit, often near 10 mph. When your day falls outside safe limits, we reschedule. We watch the forecast before every job and reach out early when a change is coming.
Do I have to get text messages?
No. Job texts are optional and never required for service. Check the text box on the form if you want them. Reply STOP any time to end them, or HELP for help. See our Text Terms.
What crops do you spray, and do you work outside Idaho?
We spray any crop you grow, as long as the product label allows aerial application. Wheat, barley, potatoes, sugar beets, alfalfa, corn, hay, mint, canola, dry beans, peas, onions, and whatever else is in your rotation. You supply the product and the rate; we fly it. Our base is Blackfoot and we cover 250 miles from there, reaching Western Wyoming, Montana, Northern Utah and Northern Nevada. Farther out, we go by arrangement. A large farm is worth the drive, and we stay until your acres are done.
Who handles leftover mix and empty containers?
We agree on the plan before the job and record it on the work order. Mix is sized to the acres so little is left over. Containers go back to you triple rinsed, or we haul them off on your say so.
Are you insured, and what if something goes wrong?
Liability coverage is on our Ready for 2027 list and will be in hand before the first paid acre. Ask for the certificate before you schedule, and we send it. If our application misses coverage through our error, we make it right.
How and when do I pay?
You get an invoice after the job with the acres applied, the rate and any travel. Pay by card or bank transfer from the invoice link, or send a check. Terms show on every invoice. No deposit for a normal job.
Do you spread dry fertilizer or seed a cover crop?
Yes. The aircraft swaps to a 45 gallon granular hopper for seed and dry product with a 26 foot swath. Cover crop seeding into standing corn or grain is where it earns its keep, since nothing drives your crop. Dry work is quoted per job by pounds per acre.
Is there a minimum size job?
Small fields work best added to a bigger day nearby or combined with a neighbor. Call with your acres and we tell you straight whether the trip pencils for you. We would rather say so up front than pad a price.
What do I get for my records and my buyer after the job?
An application record for every job: product, EPA registration number, rate, acres, weather, start and finish time, and who flew it. It lands on your private grower page and in your email. Restricted use applications get their record inside 30 days, the way Idaho requires.
